Welcome to the North West Deaneries' new recruitment page. Here we will host information on applying to anaesthesia nationally along with information on job opportunities within the deanery itself at all levels.
North West Deanery:
This map shows the location of each trust in the North West Deanery. For Stage 1 training you will rotate throughout the entire deanery with 3 placements of 1 year's duration, each at a different hospital. Depending on your training needs, you will spend one of your 3 years in one of the following hospitals: Lancaster, Blackpool, Preston or Blackburn.
In Stage 2 & 3 training you will rotate throughout the entire deanery depending on your training needs. If you click on your selected trust you will see induction information for that site.
Core and higher specialty training
The Anaesthetics National Recruitment Office (ANRO) oversee recruitment to core anaesthesia and ACCS anaesthesia (CT1), as well as recruitment to higher anaesthesia training posts (ST4). Information on how to apply, the national recruitment timeline, applicant guidance and person specifications can be found on the ANRO website.
RCOA recommends all potential applicants read the person specifications to assess eligibility and qualifications required and the applicant guidance which sets out the whole process from application to offer.
