Chorley General Hospital
The Major Incident (MAJAX) full day mass casualty simulation exercise we will be running at Chorley General Hospital on Wednesday 19th March. This is the third year we have held the exercise, and we are now able to open it up to the regions specialty anaesthetics and critical care trainees.
Date: Wednesday 19th March. (If there is enough demand for places we will also run a day on Tuesday 18th March.)
Location: It will be held in both the education centre and the LIFE Centre on the hospital grounds, where we have a virtual hospital setup, complete with ED triage, resus, majors, minors, radiology, and a theatres and critical care coordinators area.
Eligibility: This will be a multi-specialty, multi-disciplinary training event for middle grade resident doctors in emergency medicine, anaesthetics, critical care, general surgery and orthopaedics, ED and anaesthetics nursing staff, ODPs, and allied healthcare professionals in trauma specialties. For anaesthetic trainees we intend to course for doctors in Stage 2 and 3.
Learning Outcomes: For aneasthetic specialty trainees the course links to multiple capabilities in the RCoA curriculum Stage 2 and 3 domains Resuscitation and Transfer, Professional Behaviours and Communication, and Team working.
