SAVEd anaesthesia & ICM

This educational project was set up by trainees who were self-isolating during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It stands for Self-IsolAting Virtual Education Project, as we wanted to ensure education was SAVEd during this pandemic.

These virtual tutorials cover the topics trainees would have covered during their New Starter, Primary and Final anaesthesia & ICM tutorials during March, April and May 2020. Additional topics have also been included to aid training, and help study for the IAC, primary, final anaesthesia & FICM exams.

Each tutorial was created by either a trainee or a consultant in the North West deanery.
Just click on each topic, and it will direct you to the video of the presentation. To gain access to the original slides, just click on the link next to each presentation.

Each tutorial has a feedback form. Please complete this once you have finished the presentation and you will be sent a confirmation message of completion for your portfolio.

Completion of each presentation will be awarded with 0.5 local CPD points, approved by the NW deanery.

Weekly Live Zoom Tutorials

We are now running weekly live zoom New Starter, Primary and Finals tutorials for all North West anaesthetic trainees.

You will have been sent an invitation to join the weekly zoom sessions directly from Janet Coulson if you usually attend the New Starter, Primary or Finals tutorials. You should be released from clinical work during this allocated study time.

These zoom sessions will involve running through a presentation on the allocated topic, followed by an interactive exam preparation session, which may involve running through MCQs, CRQs, SBAs, and maybe even some viva practice (group size dependant).

Please can you remember to sign the electronic register for each zoom tutorial, and also complete the feedback form. Feedback is very important to us, so we can continue to improve how these tutorials are delivered. Thank you.
